Corpus Christi Community seeks to build
community in a residential setting for men with a background of homelessness
and alcoholism. The community offers single room accommodation and seeks to
work with each individual offering a range of supports to enable them to live
with dignity and respect.
The Corpus Christi Community was first started by
Mother Teresa in Greenvale, on the outskirts of Melbourne, in 1974. Jesuits took over the
running of the community in 1977, and in 2007 marked 30 years of involvement in
the community with the release of a history, titled Coming Home.
